As much testosterone-charged this blog is, I think this should also appeal to women who appreciate their own kind. That is one characteristic that women have – they can admire members of the same sex and get away with it but if males do that… oh wait, MALES don’t do that, only gays are people with a wang who adore the physical attributes of the same sex.
You may wonder, how is this related to the stuff I normally write about? I usually discuss topics that I am a fan of…whether it be sports, movies, books, music and TV shows. If you have followed some of my earlier works, I have showed great appreciation on some of my female crushes. This is actually the perfect venue to tackle all of those related to my usual topics of sports, movies, music and TV shows as there is always a specific gal that I have been fond of. This blog entry is to have an appreciation for the female celebrities that I have admired this decade.
To start off, let’s define sexy. According to Merriam-Webster, sexy is defined to be something generally attractive or interesting. Sexy is not just about physical beauty. There are some attributes that make other people sexier. Maybe, she is smart or maybe she is a great role model. Heck, I sometimes even consider scheming, nasty women like Blair of Gossip Girl sexy (OK, not all of them though). Just like beauty, sexy is still subjective, but we are going to tackle the different kinds of sexy as we go along the women in this list. It’s a looooooong list so let’s start.
WARNING: This is for mature readers only. (Well, most of my write-ups are anyway) This is mostly about Hollywood celebrities so it would be very normal to see descriptions on sexy, hot, boobs and other body parts as they are advertised for their physical assets. I am just stating facts in here.
100. Katie Cassidy. The bride in Harper’s Island. If she is not that hot, I would have stopped watching the TV series already.
99. Sohee (of the Wonder Girls). Damn it! I have to put one of those sell-out Wonder Girls in this list. But hey, she’s got a very innocent and sweet face that has at least made me stop and watch the music video of ‘Nobody But You’ instead of switching channels (for once).
98. Angelina Jolie. OK, you will be wondering why this low. First, I am not a fan of her looks (although her body is very hot). Second, she stole poor Jennifer Aniston’s husband. Third, I appreciate 97 more celebrities than her. Nevertheless, here is a picture for all of the Angelina Jolie fans.
97. Christina Aguilera. If there is a time machine that would put me back ten years ago, my past self would be kicking my present self for putting Christina in this list because Britney doesn’t even appear here. But you know what, (past self) Christina Aguilera is more talented and prettier than Britney Spears (and has better PR too). Heck, Aguilera even got my attention further when she went the ‘dirty’ route.
96. Carmen Electra. I don’t think there is a need for further description here.
95. Mickie James. OK, you can use the Bill Simmons wrestling diva theory (women in wrestling are not as hot as we think they are) on her but Mickie is such an awesome wrestler that she had the whole stadium root for her in Wrestlemania even if she was playing the psychotic, obsessed heel. Besides, she’s got the humps to showcase (that’s why they had her wearing a skirt on that match). Nevertheless, she is in this list because she is arguably the best female wrestler I’ve ever seen. Nice moves and she knows how to sell her opponents moves as well.
94. Zooey Deschanel. Summer! If she was not my most watched actress in a cinema this year (at two – Yes Man and (500) Days of Summer), I don’t think she will make this list. Nevertheless, I liked her because she has awesome bangs and sparkling eyes. Plus, she can sing!
93. Shannon Elizabeth. Two words: American Pie. Oh, it was before this decade? I don’t care.
92. Christy Hemme. The redhead stunner in professional wrestling. To be honest, she also belongs in the wrestling diva theory but she has a special charm. I am not sure what it is but maybe it’s because she is too feminine to wrestle or she always gets beaten in the ring.
91. Ria Tanctuaco-Trillo. Mornings were so much brighter whenever I got to watch her in Studio 23’s Breakfast.
90. Maria Sharapova. She may not have enticed me to watch tennis this decade (unlike for some tennis stars in the 90s) but she is still awesomely beautiful.
89. Sarah Chalke. Awesome chick from Scrubs and How I Met Your Mother. Being funny is natural for Dr. Elliot/Stella.
88. Salma Hayek. I was planning to rank her higher because she is one of the most beautiful and sexy actresses in Hollywood. However, even if she still maintains her sexy body, I remembered that Desperado was filmed in the 90s.
87. Bryce Dallas Howard. This blonde stunner stole the show as Gwen Stacy in Spider-man 3. She was definitely prettier and hotter than my long-time crush Kirsten Dunst there that I suddenly forgot that Kirsten existed in the movie. Unfortunately, that’s the only movie I remembered Bryce in.
86. Beyonce Knowles. First of the very few black women in this list. Nevertheless, Beyonce is still hot whether it be on singing or by being bootylicious (don’t act though).
85. Cobie Smulders. Robin Scherbatsky is one hot gal and still remains the perfect partner for Ted Mosby (in my opinion). Not only does she mesmerize the audience with her boobs (OK, don’t call me a pervert… that’s how they advertise her there anyway), she is also the funniest chick I have seen in the boob tube (pun not intended). Her quirky yet funny acts and Canadian humor make her awesomely hilarious.
84. Tracy Abad. For those who don’t know, she is the pretty, Cindy Kurleto look-alike UE courtside reporter years ago. You may ask, why the eff is she in this list ahead of some top celebrities in the world? (your explanation must be a good one, Jeff…) I write about sports, movies, music and TV shows and a huge part of it is UAAP. Therefore, there should be a spot for the prettiest UAAP courtside reporter ever. By the way, you will bash me more on some choices later on.
83. Rachel McAdams. Let’s spell her name another way: B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. Great actress as well.
82. Stacy Keibler. The leggy, super pretty WWE diva is one of the many WWE divas in this list. I know that wrestling ladies (or any sports ladies) become hotter than they actually are. But, dude, Stacy is an exception. If you don’t know her, Google her now.
81. Precious Adona. Can we say, “my precioussss?”
80. Maike Evers. Back-to-back Pinay celebrity picks. Maike is such a pretty and sophisticated chick although I don’t think she will crack this list or I won’t even consider her if she did not pose with Nicole Hernandez on an Uno Magazine issue more than four years ago.
79. Norika Fujiwara. I Googled her a lot during first year college after her sizzling performance in China Strike Force. Sorry had to put her here for relevance’s sake.
78. Ana Ivanovic. Ana is the hottest tennis chick of the decade. I am not a tennis fan unlike in the 90s but I am not blind as well. By the way, the sports-chick-is-not-as-hot-as-you-think-she-was theory does not apply to tennis players.
77. Ehra Madrigal. The most curvaceous Pinay actress as of the moment.
76. Eva Longoria-Parker. Mrs. Tony Parker. Because of how famous she is, people refer to Tony as Tony Longoria instead. How awesomely sexy is she? Let’s just say that I watched a crappy movie of hers before (Over Her Dead Body) and I liked it when I first saw it.
75. Jada Pinkett-Smith. I think I may have overrated her because there are so few black women in this list but one thing I am sure of, she was hot when she flew the spacecraft in Matrix 2 and 3.
74. Monica Yncierto. Sexiest voice ever. Seriously. Too bad, I could not listen to her in the radio anymore. I drive in the Metro for approximately 3-4 hours a day so radio voices matter a lot to me. She is one of the reasons why 2008 is the best year in my life.
73. Maria Ozawa. The first porn star to be mentioned in this list. Porn stars should not place very high though because the classy route is sexier. However, Maria Ozawa is the cream of the crop so it would be a huge crime if she does not belong here.
72. Diane Kruger. The face that launched a thousand ships and the body that made National Treasure more appealing.
71. Tina Fey. Geek is the new sexy. Tina Fey pretty much epitomizes this new trend as her simple face with those nerdy eyeglasses makes her more alluring. She put it to a higher level by starring as Liz Lemon in the witty TV series 30Rock. Yes, she is one of the writers in there as well. Tina pretty much proves one point that I am driving here – girls do not need to be conventionally gorgeous to be sexy. Talent and smarts sometimes trump physical beauty. Oh wait, Tina Fey has a hot body too.
70. Catherine Zeta-Jones. She could have placed higher in the 90s (because of Mask of Zorro) but Catherine Zeta-Jones is still a hottie in the first years of this decade.
69. Leighton Meester. Conniving. Elegant. Extravagant. Nasty. Devious. Scheming. Bitchy. These are the reasons why this pretty brunette is wickedly sexy as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl. Queen B over Serena any time.
68. Brea Grant. Forget about the terrible acting. No matter how many times Daphne swung her head from left to right (and vice versa), she made the crappy Season 3 of Heroes more enticing to watch for shallow males like me.
67. Joyce So. Oh the eyes! This sexy Pinay celebrity just sizzles whether it be her sexy bikini body or those chinky eyes.
66. Katy Perry. The Zooey Deschanel look-alike. Oh wait, Katy is more popular (and hotter). I must admit that she has one of the sexiest singing voices ever. I always forget to evaluate if she is musically talented or limited just because her seductive vocals just drown it. Of course, if you are going to listen to Katy, you might as well YouTube her. Sexy level goes a notch higher because of her pin-up image that features her bangs and nice rack.
65. Sophie Howard. Technically not a porn star but still as sultry as they are. Sophie has one of the best British boobs. Not only is she gifted with a voluptuous figure, Sophie also has that alluring temptress-looking face.
64. Lougee Basabas. Mojofly and Delara’s lead singer is in this list even if she is not that much popular as the rest are but her sweet and pretty face makes listening to their ear-friendly songs fantastic. She also writes songs and she also hosts in Eat Bulaga. Awesome girl.
63. Sienna Miller. She sizzled when she played the Baroness in the GI Joe flick. Her brunette version makes her look like Kate Beckinsale (thus, she is better with a dark hair than as a blonde). Because of her (and Rachel Nichols), it was very easy for me to watch GI Joe not just twice – but thrice.
62. Sue Bird. OK, I admit it – she falls under the category sports-chick-is-not-as-hot-as-you-think-she-was but she is still a lovely sight. In my opinion, she is the prettiest WNBA player and her sexiness level gets better because she is a great athlete. She’s got mad talent when it comes to orchestrating her team’s offense and delivering when it matters the most.
61. Maui Taylor. Maui is one of the biggest and most controversial bombshells when I was in college. There was frenzy when Gamitan was shown in theatres. Her silky smooth skin, alluring eyes and curvaceous body made this ex-teen star an instant hit then.
60. Ali Larter. Does anyone have a whipped cream? Ali Larter is the second Heroes star in this list. Her model-type of body plus her pretty yet nasty face makes her very appealing no matter how many times they tried to kill her character and resurrect her. Although, she could have gotten a higher rank if the show stopped re-using her to play multiple characters.
59. Sara Wayne Callies. I am betting 500 pesos that you don’t know her when you first read her name here. For everyone’s information, Sara played Dr. Sara Tancredi in Prison Break. She looks like Bianca Araneta. Speaking of which…
58. Bianca Araneta. Double kill!
57. Eliza Dushku. I never watched Dollhouse but I have liked this die-hard Boston fan ever since her Bring It On and Buffy the Vampire Slayer days. I easily get attracted with blondes but with the number of brunettes in this list, I must say that black haired ladies are sexier than the golden ones.
56. Brooke Burke. One of my favorites early this decade.
55. Christina Applegate. It took just one movie to catapult her in this spot. I think I am overrating Ms. Veronica Corningstone but Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy was so memorable that I also could not forget how impressed I was on Ms. Applegate.
54. Laura Prepon. Oh Donna! The redhead lass in That 70s Show has grown into a sexy lady. I don’t care how big Jackie (Mila Kunis) thinks of her in the TV series (heck, she even pictured Donna as a lumberjack). For the doubters, just take a look at the image here.
53. Chinggay Andrada. This cutie was a sight whenever I watched the Saturday sports show they had with Jinno Rufino and the hugely-annoying-to-Ateneans Bobby Yan. I don’t care if she is a Lasallian.
52. Myles Hernandez. Years of relevance matter in this list. I cannot put only the relevant women in the recent years as this list is about the decade. Nevertheless, Myles was blazingly hot in her first FHM pictorial (as their very first Girlfriend of the Month) in January 2002. I still remember those details up to the present time, so I think that I have to put her in here.
51. Sunshine Cruz. Another awesome sexy siren in the early 2000’s
50. Sora Aoi. Best porn star ever.
49. Miranda Kerr. She is the Victoria’s Secret Angel who really looks like an angel.
48. Heidi Klum. The classic Victoria’s Secret Angel. I think she rightfully deserves to be the icon of all Victoria’s Secret models.
47. Carrie Underwood. This lovely blonde shook the world by winning American Idol and several Grammy’s. Even if I am not into country music, I must say that I like her singing talent. Best female American Idol singer ever in my books.
46. Amanda Bynes. Yeah, I know – she is usually into less mature and funny roles. But still, Amanda Bynes is a very cute and pretty actress that I liked a lot way back in college (and even up to now). Her eyes and smile are just amazingly cute.
45. Demi Moore. Vintage but still very hot.
44. Marisa Tomei. OK, maybe I am biased because Anger Management is one of my favorite movies.
43. Evangeline Lilly. Her sparkling eyes and hot body were part of the initial reasons why I was enticed to watch Lost. Never regretted it at all.
42. Nicole Kidman. She may have matured but she is still a no-brainer in this list.
41. Charlize Theron. Ditto.
40. Becky Hammon. See Sue Bird. The only differences are: 1) Becky is more transcendent as she scores and pretty much carries her team; 2) she is the cutest WNBA player; and 3) she may have turned back from Team USA (because they snubbed her), but she has a good character.
39. Torrie Wilson. Hottest and most beautiful WWE diva. Torrie is in a class of her own. The Wrestling Diva theory does not apply to her at all. By the way, she starred in the hottest bikini contest in WWE history.
38. Jenna Fischer. It took just one celebrity poker tournament for me to hop into the Jenna Fischer bandwagon. If I did not turn on the TV set in that boring Friday afternoon, I would not have known her. Nevertheless, Jenna is a hot Midwestern gal who plays Pam Beesley in The Office.
37. Marieton Pacheco. Good Morning! Damn, I will never forget Studio 23’s Breakfast in the early 2000’s. No matter how it feels sucky to wake up early for school, seeing the cute Marieton in the TV screens surely lights up my days then. Love the smile as well.
36. Jessica Mendoza. OK, please do not kick me for my last two choices if you think they do not belong in this list. But I have to admit that UAAP plays a huge role in my life (and so was Breakfast) so I have to put the sexiest UAAP courtside reporter here. You might be thinking: I considered Lia Cruz as the best but she is not on this list. How come Jessica is? Here are some reasons: 1) I get to listen to Jessica in radio a lot and that’s where her awesome and bubbly side is; 2) I am not as fond of Lia’s looks as Jessica’s (no offense to Lia although I think she is very cute); 3) Jessica is a lucky charm for Team Ateneo this year.
35. Cameron Diaz. If we are in the 90s, Cameron is a sure shot in the top ten. However, she lost relevance in the latter part of the decade and I am not as attracted by her looks anymore. Nonetheless, Cameron is still the hottest Charlie’s Angel.
34. Iwa Moto. Iwa’s eyes are just so tempting. She also has a nice body as well.
33. Diana Zubiri. Very beautiful and hot Pinay actress. There is a reason why she was featured in another country’s FHM magazine.
32. Christina Hendricks. Sexiest vixen in Mad Men. Her pearly skin and red hair easily attract me. Her blue eyes (or is it green?) are amazingly hot as well. Her boobs? As Bill Simmons stated, she has the best boobs today. She maybe a bit fat for some people but I think she has a fantastic hourglass figure. Not only that, her character in Mad Men - Joan Holloway - is such a nasty temptress.
31. Maggie Grace. Starting with Christina, we are now in the elite tier of sexy women in TV shows. Maggie has got to be the pioneer of that tier. This pretty blonde stunner was a sight in Lost especially when she wore a bikini. Heck, I did not even care how wicked her character was on that show.
30. Keeley Hazell. The best sexy star in this list. By sexy star I mean a celebrity who makes a living by being nude.
29. Rachael Leigh Cook. One of the sweetest faces in Hollywood. She was so much better earlier this decade though.
28. Ashley Judd. There is no doubt about this if we are in the 90s but still I think her lovely and sweet face deserves a spot here even if she peaked in the 90s. Ashley with a black hair is SIMPLY beautiful.
27. Jessica Biel. Now we are heading to the next level here. Jessica is one-of-a-kind. I think her teen role in Seventh Heaven helps a lot because we got to see her evolve from a youngster to a fully matured, sexy woman this decade.
26. Michelle Monaghan. The list just gets sweeter and sweeter. MI3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Made of Honor star has one of the best eyebrows and nose in Hollywood. Her eyes and cute smile also rock.
25. Jennifer Love-Hewitt. Here we have another ex-teen star. Yes, Jennifer Love peaked during the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies but she still continues to be relevant and sexy in Ghost Whisperer.
24. Alyssa Milano. OK, she peaked in the 90s when she was a lovely young girl who exposed the best breasts in movie history in Embrace of the Vampire. Nevertheless, Alyssa still maintains her awesome face and figure up to the present time. She was also relevant this decade in the Charmed TV series (although I never watched it).
23. Katharine McPhee. Prettiest, sexiest and most beautiful American Idol contestant of all time. She is also wildly talented – I have been writing about my favorite songs of the month for four years and her song Somewhere Over The Rainbow is one of the first legitimate pop songs on that list.
22. Taylor Swift. Let’s be honest, Taylor Swift is a bit limited when it comes to singing talent. However, I have to admit that Taylor knows how to win the hearts of her target audience with her dreamy lyrics. Her voice is also unique so it pretty much cancels out her talent limitations. Being a very good influence also helps her stock a lot. Oh and how can I forget? Her biggest asset is her almost perfect lovable face with the golden curls. She can pull off being a two to a perfect ten by just removing a pair of geeky eyeglasses. Heck, even her brunette version is very hot as well. No wonder everybody hates Kanye West.
21. Chyler Leigh. She has one of the nicest faces in TV series when she portrays Dr. Lexie Grey. Her kind character also makes her very appealing. I may have liked nasty chicks like Blair but nothing beats goody-two shoes girls.
20. Nicole Hernandez. My dream girl way back in college. Sexy, classy, sweet and smart.
19. Cristine Reyes. “The Dream” as the guys of the Boys’ Night Out radio show call her. Cristine is easily the sexiest Philippine celebrity as of the present time because of her simple yet very lovely face. Of course, she has amazing curves as well.
18. Scarlett Johansson. Curvaceous, alluring and very beautiful. Scarlett usually belongs in such lists like this and I am making no exception.
17. Angel Locsin. Cristine may have edged Angel Locsin as the sexiest Philippine chick this year but Angel is still the hottest for the whole decade. Angel pretty much has the same physical characteristics as Cristine but Angel was a better package when she was at her peak.
16. Sarah Michelle Gellar. I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer a lot of times early this decade simply because of… Buffy. She used to be overshadowed by teen beauties like Jennifer Love-Hewitt in the late 90s but Sarah Michelle Gellar became the next best thing when she played Buffy. Unfortunately, the best thing did not arrive because she stopped being relevant but still, I am a Buffy fan because of her.
15. Rachel Nichols. Hottest chick this year. She could have placed higher in this list if she was more relevant to me in the past years. Nevertheless, Rachel stole the show as Scarlett O’ Hara in the latest GI Joe movie. Her beauty multiples by ten when she is a redhead. By the way, I think her eyes are so underrated (because everyone notices her chest because of movies like P2 and GI Joe) and I think those are her greatest assets.
14. Jennifer Aniston. Too bad, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made her stock go down but I still think Jennifer Aniston is one of the best natural beautiful women in the world.
13. Alessandra Ambrosio. You just have to love her elvish-looking face. Alessandra used to be the hottest Victoria’s Secret model in my books because of her dazzling face and sexy, thin body but # 11 in this list beats her by a bit. More on that later…
12. Megan Fox. Not in the top ten?!! Seriously?! Yes, even if Megan was significantly relevant in the past three years. Megan Fox is still irresistibly hot as the chick in Transformers movies and I think she belongs AT LEAST in the top five if we are just measuring sexy by physical attributes. However, Megan Fox is not a talented actress and the most memorable performance she had in the blockbuster flick was to bounce around. Thus, she falls out of the top ten.
11. Adriana Lima. The hottest Victoria’s Secret model this decade. I have to admit that I was not fond of Adriana when I first learned of the Victoria’s Secret models’ names. Face-wise, Alessandra easily beats her then. However, Alessandra got preggy last year. It prompted me to appreciate Adriana and boy, she is so hot. Adriana has sex appeal written all over her as she has a better hourglass figure. Her face did not stand out at first but I observed that it was not tiring to see her temptress look. Damn, Marko Jaric maybe an awful basketball player but he really scored big time here.
The Top Ten (these women better be good or else you will be disappointed in me)
10. Anne Hathaway. One of the sexiest brunettes ever. I am not a fan of girls with large round eyes but Anne is the exception. She just has the aura of physical sexiness in her whenever you watch her. Also, I watched Devil Wears Prada with the sole reason that she is in that movie. Yes, I did not mind if it is on a chick perspective. (Although, it is a great movie plot-wise if you ask me)
9. Jessica Alba. She should have ranked higher because she has been the top chick from around 2003 to 2005. Jessica has the best abs in the world. However, Jessica is out of the top ten because she has not been relevant after she got pregnant.
8. Katherine Heigl. Grey’s Anatomy’s blonde stunner. If she was in that show, I would have just quitted (or might not even considered) watching their mediocre first season. She is currently one of the most relevant female celebrities because she knows how to act and she is very beautiful. She does nice girl drama very well that it is easy to empathize on her characters. Oh wait, I better stop or else we are going to pass the chick flick zone.
7. Halle Berry. Most beautiful black woman of all time. She may have been a beauty pageant contestant in the 80’s, but Halle peaked this decade when she engaged into more matured and sexy roles. It is in this decade when Halle took better acting roles as she had a load of memorable movies like the X-Men trilogy, The World Is Not Enough, Monster’s Ball, Swordfish and Gothika.
6. Monica Bellucci. Not a popular choice but ain’t a bad pick either. Monica ranks sixth here because she was very relevant in my college years (2002-06). She is a very sexy actress who has the best hourglass figure this decade. By the way, she is Persephone in the Matrix movies.
5. Hayley Williams. Call me a Paramore fanboy and I don’t care. Hayley deserves to be in the top five because she is the most talented rock chick I have ever seen. Not only is she talented, she is charismatic (based on her performances in YouTube), humble (always recognizes her success as the band’s success) and very beautiful. I have been pimping her a lot so I will stop here.
2. Kate Beckinsale. Serendipity will forever be etched as one of the most memorable romantic movies of all-time for me because of two things: 1) it had a notable story and 2) it was the breakout movie of Kate Beckinsale. This brunette chick is simply the loveliest and prettiest face in Hollywood. Timeless beauty indeed. Another interesting factor is that Kate may have few movies in her resume but she has been in quality ones this decade: Pearl Harbor, Serendipity, Underworld, Van Helsing and Click.
1. Elisha Cuthbert. I think I have overpimped the rest of the top ten with descriptions like most like this most like that. But still, Elisha is the sexiest chick this decade. I know that some may disagree and can even say that she is not that relevant anymore, but Elisha Cuthbert is such a sight to behold. She has the complete package – from the sweet, pretty and complicated face to the killer body. Yes, and she is the hottest TV show chick ever (there you go, Mister Jack Bauer). You know how hot Elisha Cuthbert is? She played roles of a porn star and a drunk teenage girl and I still admire her like how I would adore a nice lady.
Conclusions
• Being sexy is not just about being beautiful physically. Of course, one’s physicality matters a lot but talent, skills, smarts and other qualities that can turn on red-blooded males like me are major pluses
• There are several porn star references in here. If not, there are many lustful stuff that were mentioned. If you are complaining, then what do you expect? This is a list about sexy women. I may have downgraded the ranks of porn stars but I have to admit that they are still sexy. Oh by the way, we are in the Internet and Porn generation. I can tell you that all males watch porn this decade so it is very necessary to mention some of the significant ones here. However…
• Porn stars become less appealing because you have pretty much seen all from them. The same corollary can be said on actresses who bared their skin earlier in their careers. This actually came from Bill Simmons’ write-ups. Actresses who had nude scenes early on their careers usually end up less relevant than those who teased their fans by just wearing sexy outfits but not revealing anything. Look at Jennifer Love-Hewitt. She is not that talented when it comes to acting but since she never showed her tits, males still watch her as of the present time as compared to Shannon Elizabeth who showed it all in American Pie. The only actress who had an X-rated movie in the top ten is Monica Bellucci.
• I factored in years of relevance in here. If you ask me to rank the sexiest in the present time, I would have ranked it very differently.
